COMMUNITY JOBS SCOTLAND UPDATE

The second allocation of Community Jobs Scotland jobs is complete and these have been made available to Jobcentre Plus and Skills Development Scotland. 

 

The jobs can also be viewed on http://www.scvo.org.uk/training-employability/community-jobs-scotland/. The database is searchable by Local Authority area or by job type and only jobs that are still available are displayed.


The referral route for 16 – 17 year olds is through Skills Development Scotland and for 18 – 24 and 25+ through Jobcentre Plus.

 

The Scottish Government have committed up to £1.5 million to provide additional Training and Employability Support for Community Jobs Scotland employees.  The support is designed to provide additional training and skills which will help CJS employees sustain and progress in employment.  The service is being delivered by The Wise Group and its partner organisations on behalf of Social Enterprise Scotland and the Scottish Government.

 

The organisations who will provide the service are:

• Claverhouse Group
• Hebridean Chocolates
• Inspiralba
• Kibble
• New Start Highland
• Real Work Skills

 

There are currently 76 CJS employees in Fife and the support contract is spilt between BRAG and Cleaverhouse.
