Release Date: 24/11/2022 19:11

Leona is a student at Balwearie High School, who picked to study her Foundation Apprenticeship in Children and Young People within 2021-23.  Leona completed the first year of her Foundation Apprenticeship virtually every Tuesday and Thursday where she studied the following modules Communication, Wellbeing, Development, Play and Health & Safety.

Leona was only staying on at school for her S6 to complete her second year of her Foundation Apprenticeship.  Two afternoons a week she would complete her work-based learning while on placement with First Class Childcare, Burntisland.  After a few weeks of attending this, a Modern Apprenticeship position was advertised within her placement and her Fife Council Employability officer encouraged her to apply.

Leona was successful in being offered the Modern Apprenticeships position and left school to start her apprenticeship as of October.

Quote from Leona

“The support I have received has been excellent and this has helped me gain my Modern Apprenticeship position within First Class Childcare”.
