Fife Council - Assistant cook/ café Assistant

• Duties will include:
• preparation of food and beverages and the organisation of the service of food.
•  Transporting and serving of meals
•  general kitchen and dining room duties such as, washing up, setting up and clearing away equipment, cleaning of the kitchen, its surround and equipment.
•  Completion of basic bookwork may be required. 

• Also serving the public in the café cash handling cashing up the till all financial procedures maintaining stock in café keeping the area clean.  

• City and Guilds 706 1 or 2 or equivalent.
• Understanding dietary and nutritional needs
• cooking experience in a relevant environment commercial kitchen
• Elementary food hygiene certificate

Training 

Training will be provided in the following areas:

Full induction all inhouse training and on site continuous training and development inhouse 

• IT and literacy skills
• organisational skills 
•  being able to work on your own or as part of a team
•  be able to use your own initiative
• Customer care skills 
• Ability to follow instructions 
• Basic cooking skills/home baking
