Diageo Learning for Life

The Diageo Learning for Life: Hospitality & Bartending Course is a 6 week training course which equips unemployed people (18+) with the skills, qualifications and experience to start a career in the hospitality industry. On completion of the training, participants then embark on a 2 week work placement in a local business and are then supported into employment in the hospitality, leisure and tourism industry. We are proud that 83% of our course graduates are in full time, part time employment or further education 12 months after completing the programme. During the course, participants undertake 3 National Qualifications such as Scottish Certificate for Personal License Holders and also develop the practical skills and knowledge needed for working in hospitality, undertaking workshops in practical bar skills and developing product knowledge in Beer, Wine and Spirits. As well as this, we also run modules in developing the soft skills employers seek in their staff as well as work on improving their CV and Interview Skills. Throughout the programme, participants will have the opportunity to find out more about the industry and meet those working in the sector and receive a guaranteed interview. On completion of the programme, the course Programme Manager will continue to support the participant for a further 12 months.
