Raeburn Civils

Fife pupils were recently given the opportunity to gain experience in the Civils Industry thanks to a project developed by Fife Council’s employability team, DYW Fife and Raeburn Training.  Pupils spent a week designing and building a bridge structure.  The opportunity to gain practical experience of tasks undertaken within the industry, including measuring, setting out, laying concrete foundations, working with drawings, assessing risks and constructing an end product.  Along with the REHIS Elementary Health and Safety qualification and their CSCS card.

 

AIMS

  • Raising awareness of the civils industry and career paths available
  • Provide practical workshops allowing tasters for candidates considering a construction / civils career
  • Support school leavers and those seeking work to move into the industry and achieve paid work by equipping them with practical qualifications
